Book

Cover

This was a school assignment for which we choose a book to read. The book should belong to a genre, diffrent from what we usually read. After we finished reading the book we should interpret the story as a bookcover. We had a couple of days to design the book cover. I choose to read the book “If all the cats in the world disappered” by the japanese author Genki Kawamura. It’s quite a philosophical story about how people, animals and all kind of things affect the world and what would happen if those things disappered. Spoiler alert… But if you read the story you will find how even though things or people disappear they still leave their mark on the world. It also discusses how our memory work and how we don’t really remember every detail about people and situations afterwards. This ties into my design. I choose to illustrate a cat, but i made it “in fragments” to symbolize our fragmented memories. The paw prints symbolizes the mark we leave on the world and the red dot is a hint to then story’s japanese origin
